The Bucket Tote Shoulder Bag from Chic Atelier combines two shapes that usually stay apart. The base is a bucket - wider at the bottom, tapering slightly upward - while the handles and capacity belong to a tote, which gives it more presence than a plain rectangle without adding bulk.
At thirty-two centimetres wide, twenty-six high and twelve deep it sits in the useful middle: too large to be an evening bag, small enough that it never looks like luggage. It takes a tablet, a book and everything else a day needs without becoming a bottomless pit.
It is made from PU with a polyester lining, and the colour range is more interesting than most - alongside black and green there is a red and a silver, the latter being a genuine metallic rather than a grey. The bucket base means the bag stands up on its own when set down, which is a small thing that matters when you are hunting for keys. Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid overloading a tapered shape, as the strain concentrates where the sides narrow. The silver in particular does duty as an evening bag as well as a daytime one.
