The Woven Polyester Beach Tote from Chic Atelier is built for the days when a zip is more trouble than it is worth. The top is open, the shape is a wide bucket, and everything goes in and comes out in one movement - a towel, a book, sun cream and a bottle of water, without negotiating a closure with sandy hands.
The weave is the point. Polyester woven in an open basket texture gives the bag structure without weight, lets sand fall through rather than collecting in the seams, and dries quickly if it gets splashed. It is a far more practical material at the coast than straw, which stains and frays.
It comes in two colors, a natural light brown and a black, both unprinted, so the texture carries the whole design. Hand wash it and do not dry clean; a rinse and a spell in the shade is usually all it needs after a week away. Beyond the beach it works as a market bag or a light shopper. The open top means it is not the bag for valuables in a crowd - keep a phone and a wallet in a zipped pouch inside. It folds down small enough to pack flat in a suitcase.
